Everyone's parents were, to put it kindly, unique, in their personalities and their interactions with their children. Sam had only known Avery to be the only one that would not have a parent showing up whenever it was Parent's Day, but her grandmother was an entire league away from their families combined, if he could put it that way. But to see Avery's face turn and her grandmother's chiding at for being, well, Avery, Sam could not help but feel sorry for her. All these years knowing her, and he knew only the surface of her private life. But it was to be rather rude of him to intrude so suddenly that Sam thought to himself, "maybe I should talk to her more."
Takumi was the one who began the touring. And sure enough, they were soon at the field, where Takumi introduced himself and began dribbling the ball. Sam applauded when Takumi finished his stint, with his mother clapping lightly. "He's a rather charming fellow, ain't he?" she commented, but the one that made her eyes popped wide open was when Takumi was changing in front of them. Smacking her lips, she turned her head to her husband and said, "kinda makes me wish you had pecks like that, darling," with a chuckle, which Sam's father, a tall but meaty man to snort and replied, "it's tender meat that's the sweet deal, Cynthia." Sam just rolled his eyes. His mother has a taste in muscular men, and at times he even wondered why his father even got together with his mother.
But that was a question for another time.
Next up was Julianna, who brought them over to the dance studio. Her dance routine was something of a rare treat, as he had rarely ever see her perform, except for official competitions which he would be at the kitchen preparing the tea break items. Nevertheless, Julianna's act was nothing short of beautiful, though his brow cringed at her parent's criticism instead of an applaud or appreciation. "Julianna had it tough", he though to himself again. He would tell her directly, but he reserved his comments for after the day, where privacy is once more theirs to savor. He still hasn't forgotten what her parents commented about them as her friends, and some where, it struck him as being just rude. Even if that was the case to cringe at, they could have reserved it for talks behind closed doors. Sam let out an involuntary sigh, to which his perceptive father picked up and just patted his son's back as a form of encouragement.
Next up was Rhydian, and his was a business presentation, to which Sam understood only half of what he just said. While it sounded interesting, Sam has nearly no clue about business, despite the many hours he had to learn it as part of his curriculum. But as least his parents were supportive of him. Raising his hands at Rhydian, Sam vocally voiced out, "Rhydian, remind me to ask you a few questions later," to which his father just chuckled and his mother just laughing. "Sammy, you're still clueless about business propositions and the likes? Well, at least you have a friend who can teach you that," Cynthia commented. Sam just growled, like he had just made a fool of himself.
Veronique's was next, and her presentation was that of a chemical reaction. Sam just smiled because he knew despite Veronique's demeanor, she was actually a rather good chemistry student. He had seen the things she had done when he had a shared Chemistry lesson with her, and boy was it catastrophic. Suffice to say Sam was still lucky to have his eyebrows. Remembering that just made Sam chuckle lightly as Veronique went on to demonstrate the creation of a crystal from chemical compounds. But it was Clementine who said Jasper could sing that made Sam jump, trying his best not to laugh. He honestly had never known Jasper to sing, not in front of them anyway. And what Clemmy made up was just not something he would think about.
Avery was up next, but that turned the mood down altogether when the grandmother decided not to see what her granddaughter had done and up and left for a lunch appointment. While an appointment is to be kept, she could at least stay until her granddaughter's presentation is over? Nevertheless, Sam just put the thought to sleep and tried to enjoy his friend's artwork, which was a deer-like metal sculpture. Catching Avery's eyes, as if she was shouting, "someone take over now, please!", Sam nodded and checked his watch. It was almost noon, and by comparison, his demonstration would have to be the longest ones among all of them.
"Ladies and gentlemen, friends and families, it is almost noon time, and if you would follow me, lunch will be in the mock restaurant," Sam said with a Western bow and lead the group towards the mock restaurant, where several of the chef students' parents were also arriving. Sam's allocated spot was a long table where there were enough seating for twenty people. The table was covered with a long, white cloth of silky material, and the silverware are placed neatly on the table. Decorations on the table included a vase of flower arrangements and several silver candlestands with electrical candles illuminating the table.
Sam donned his chef jacket and waltzed over to the table, his chef hat prim and proper on his head. "Ladies and gentlemen, today would be a four course meal prepared and served by me, Sam Farkusson. I am an chef student, and I hope you enjoy today's lunch menu," Sam said with a bow and returned to the island kitchen where everyone could see him work. His setting was that all of his preparations and cooking would be done in full view of the audience, as a part of chef's flair. With precision and speed, Sam whipped up and plated his first menu, to which Sam served individually while he explained the menu. "This is Noix de Saint-Jacques Gratinées à la Persillade, a French appetizer of scallops baked with my own recipe of garlic butter and panko, or Japanese breadcrumbs," he said, as he finished serving and returned to his kitchen.
Moments after the appetizers were finished, in the same manner, Sam divided his soup into individual bowls and brought them over to the table. "This is a clear Chinese soup of fish and lettuce, which is intended to cut down the fats from the first dish and to open your appetites even more. The fish is cod and the lettuce leaves were carefully selected and simmered to bring out the freshness and sweetness of the natural ingredients, seasoned minimally with sea salt in order not to mask the natural flavors of the main ingredients, as characterized in Chinese cuisine," he explained.
While his guests were savoring the soup, Sam quickly returned to the stove and began working on his main dish. Not too long later, the fragrant smell of sizzling steak and rosemary wafted through each guests' noses, so much that he drew attention from others who were happening past the area. Carefully slicing the steaks, Sam arranged them neatly into a rose of medium-done meat. The meaty petals were placed by a "garden" of green salads drizzled with balsamic sauce. As the parents were done with their soup, his main dish was ready. Taking in a deep breath, Sam put the finishing touches on his main dish and served them out. "New-York style grilled Wagyu sirloin rose, medium done, topped with red wine sauce and sides of baked potatoes and garden salad," he announced, serving the main dish as he said the name. "This is my best dish, and I hope you enjoyed it," he said, crossing his fingers as he returned to his kitchen, cleaning up before the desserts were to be served.
"Ladies and gentlemen, the meal is coming to an end soon, and today's dessert is handmade Japanese matcha gelato, a delightful and refreshing end to a heavy meal," Sam said as he handed out three scoops of green tea ice-cream served on a bed of chilled chocolate sauce and waffles in an ice-cream glass chilled in a freezer to preserve the soft gelato.
After changing, Sam returned to the table. "This is the end of my demonstration. I hope you all enjoyed today's lunch special," Sam said with a courteous bow, like an actor at the end of his show. Cynthia and Nolan just clapped. "Bravo! Storslått!" his father applauded while speaking in Norwegian. "You've improved by leagues, my dear son," his mother clapped while beaming, to which Sam just blushed and scratched the back of his head. Now after his show, he wondered who would be next.

Embarrassed by the praise from his parents, Takumi cleared his throat and brushed them off lightly. Of course this didn't stop them from hanging all over him. He only chuckled further embarrassed hearing the comment from Sam's mother to her husband after he had changed his shirt. Thankfully, Julianna had decided to take the lead secondly and offered to take them to see a small performance she had put together. Since he had just started at this school this year, he was rather interested to see Julianna dance. It was something she was obviously passionate about, so he knew it was going to be something good.
As she disappeared for a bit he took the opportunity to look about the room at the parents and his new found friends. Everyone was so different. He had to say the parents most similar to his own was probably Sam's parents. Everyone else seemed so business like, or weren't even fully present. Once Julianna came back from changing into something more comfortable to dance in, he returned his attention to her. She introduced herself and began her dance. It was really something to marvel at. The way she moved with grace and ease, her limbs seemed to long and elegant with every line she created, it was fantastic. Once concluded, Takumi clapped, and not to his surprise his father cheered. His mother offered a smile to her, but that wasn't surprising since his mother appreciated things like dance and theater. What did surprise him however, was the fact that her own parents didn't seem as thrilled about it.
Julianna was met with criticism, which Takumi didn't agree with. Avery voiced her own detest to their put downs, and Takumi nodded in agreement before Avery was chastized by her grandmother for speaking out in such a manner. "She's right though. Julianna was fantastic." Takumi interjected, before growing quiet again. He wondered if it was his place to say anything. After all, he was still the new one in the group. Thankfully, Rhydian had taken the reins and offered to do his presentation next.
Entering the business class, Takumi glanced over to his mother awaiting her impression. She knew she would later remark about how he should also try to join the business track like Rhydian. His mother just didn't think being a famous Futbol player was obtainable so she always pushed the other programs Arlington had to offer. Giving a soft sigh at the thought, he payed attention to Rhydian's presentation. The guy was amazing. He really knew the various dynamics of how to run a successful business. This caused Takumi to look at his family. Jasper seemed unamused or annoyed. Maybe both. His parents looked pleased, though they only offered backhanded comments - at least their father did. Takumi could easily tell, Rhydian and his father got on better than Jasper and his father did. This was probably because Rhydian was the more feasible choice to take over whatever their family company was.
Sam broke the seriousness that seemed to surround the room as he mentioned he needed to ask Rhydian some questions. This made Takumi chuckle, "You'll need to have someone help you with the economics side of your restaurant." The taller teen mentioned as he patted Sam's back in a friendly manner. No sooner than that were they off to the nearby chemistry room, it was Veronique's turn now. Takumi had to say he was rather impressed that this is the track the girl had decided to be on. It wasn't really what he was expecting from her. He thought she'd be more into fashion, or something like that. As she introduced herself and showed off her experiment, however, he did have to admit he thought it was pretty cool. There was more to Veronique than meets the eye and that was also very cool. Once her explanation of the crystals was over, it seemed Avery's turn was up.
Avery's grandmother didn't seem to be interested in this however, as she mentioned that she needed to go to a lunch appointment. Avery seemed, understandably, annoyed and perhaps even disappointed by this notion. He didn't think the grandmother needed to leave just now, and apparently neither did his father. "Senhora Hart, do you really have to leave at this moment?" The words seemed to fall on entirely deaf ears as the woman decided to leave anyway. Avery, however, being the tough girl she was went on to show them her works anyway. They really were splendid, especially her main piece of a deer. "Wow, Avery. This is amazing." Takumi complimented as his mother and father took closer looks at her pieces. His mother looked to Avery and mentioned, "I see quite a few things here I would actually pay money for." She offered a gentle smile toward the girl, while his father added in a grand manner, "I would buy them all!" This caused his mother to make a 'tsk' noise and just shake her head at him and mutter things in Japanese which caused to Takumi chuckle while his father looked confused.
Avery seemed to not want to keep talking about her pieces though and thankfully Sam seemed to get the hint. He was now ushering them to the culinary classes for lunch. Takumi had to admit, he was waiting for Sam's presentation the most, only because he knew it was going to be food. Following along, they entered the faux restaurant that the classes practiced in and sat at a large table. It didn't take Sam too long to start filling the room with delicious scents as he presented each dish with an explanation. Of course every dish that came out was delectable and left you wanting more even when you were stuffed.
As the lunch concluded, Sam gave a bow and his parents beamed with pride. A refreshing take after all the parents between his own seemed to be much more harsh judges of their children. While he could understand pressure, as he got it from his own mother, she was nothing like these people. Takumi gave Sam a grin, "That was great, but back to minimal carbs and sugars for me after today." He gave a little laugh because he knew Sam catered to his mostly protein diet even though he didn't particularly need to. That was just the type of guy Sam was. He had a good heart. As they rested and digested a moment Takumi looked around at his friends wondering who was going to go next. Rhydian, Avery, Julianna, Veronique, Sam and Himself had all taken their turns. That only left Jasper and Clementine, and to be honest he didn't really know what either of their chosen focus classes were.
Clementine he could at least guess with. He supposed she'd do something like Psychology, because she seemed to have this incessant need to always help people. Sometimes even when they didn't even want help. It would also give her an insight to the way people work only helping her desire to constantly play match-maker for everyone. He could also see her as something like an actress, if arts were more of her thing. Mostly because her fun personality just seemed to go well with a career based on playing pretend. He wasn't sure how good of an actress she would make though, since she apparently wasn't very good with lying. Her pretend boyfriend was case in point. Whom she lied about that he was a singer. He hasn't recalled ever hearing Jasper sing. Takumi imagined if he could sing, he'd probably sound something like Adam Levine. It was probably just the way he looked. It was a better guess than Takumi could take. He had zero idea what kind of career path Jasper could possibly focus on. He wasn't even sure Jasper even attended any of his classes.

Julianna wasn't quite sure what to make of Rhydian and Jasper's mother's reaction to her. She seemed unusually familiar with her, or at least her name. Her knowing smile only made Julianna more anxious, as her mother also seemed puzzled. She certainly hadn't heard about any boy enough to warrant their mother acting so fond. Julianna flushed and laughed nervously in response to her greeting, entirely relieved that the walk was short. Her mom was not going to forget that, of course, she knew she'd have to come up with some explanation for that. To be fair, she wanted a little explanation for the woman's reaction as well. What conclusion was she supposed to draw from that?
Her performance seemed to go over decently in everyone else's eyes, but Julianna could never focus when her parents were watching. She hung her head at her father's "lesson", but snapped up when Avery grumbled, in her usual scalding tone. "Avery!" she reacted more out of shock than any actual anger, but her parents both seemed taken aback. Avery's grandmother drew her away from the group, to scold her, evidently, but to her surprise, Takumi chimed in as well. It left an uncomfortable atmosphere, and her parents were absolutely fuming. Still, Julianna had to cover her face with her hands to hide the dumb smile that washed across her face. She didn't expect them to say something like that. She'd warned them about her parents, and tried to avoid any situation like this, and yet somehow she still felt a little happy from it. Still, from her father's tightly pinched brow, and her mother's vise-like grip on his arm, Julianna could tell they were quite upset. Her mother spoke quietly and quickly to her father, in a voice that showed a definite turn in her mood. Her father was as stoic as ever, giving stern looks to the two who spoke up.
Thankfully, Rhydian jumped into his presentation and distracted them from their frustration. In fact, her father seemed quite engaged, as did the boys' father. Of course. When he was finished, his parents praised him, though his father's words were a little...uncomfortable. A bit underhanded. It seemed like they were headed down a very uncomfortable road, in many ways. Either the parents were angry or annoyed or rude or Clementine was spouting the most awful fake stories about Jasper. There was no way this wasn't going to crash and burn, with the way that they were all interacting. Clementine's mother simply expected someone that was impossible. She only hoped that the truth wouldn't blow up in their faces.
Veronique's presentation was unexpected in a lot of ways. Honestly, Julianna had no idea the girl was so...book smart. Obviously she wasn't focusing in partying, but somehow that was all Julianna could imagine her doing. That was...a little sad, actually. Still, she was quite impressed by the genius display. Avery was up next, and to the whole group's surprise, her grandmother was leaving. Takumi's father tried to stop her, but to no avail. Avery seemed disappointed and Julianna's heart ached for her. What a slap in the face. She wasn't sure if it was any consolation that the rest of the group all seemed to disapprove of her grandmother's actions. Julianna's mother tutted softly, and squeezed her daughter's hand affirmatively. They all loved her art, which Julianna knew would be the case. Avery was amazing. She marveled at the deer, awestruck. "It's really something, Avery. Beautiful." she murmured happily.
From there, they went to Sam's presentation. Of course, it was a meal, which would be a crowd pleaser.
"A four course meal? For lunch?" Julianna's mother seemed displeased, and gave Julianna a scolding look. "We'll split one serving, Julianna, you and I both do not need to indulge that much." she spoke pleasantly, like they were buddies, and Julianna gave her a weak smile. The food was amazing, and Sam brought each course out and gave a brief description. It was fantastic, even if she only got a few bites of each. Still, with all the courses, she did feel fairly satisfied after she was finished. She wasn't sure who would be next, Clementine or Jasper, but she had a feeling that either of them was going to really be interesting for their little charade.

Rhydian was glad when Veronique took the chance to show off her project when he was through. They all followed her into the Chemistry lab which actually surprised Rhydian. Of course he knew his friend wasn't stupid not in the least, she was just lazy when it came to homework. He just didn't think something like Chemistry would be such an interest for her that she saw it as a potential career. That was really cool though, he thought. It was even cooler upon seeing her crystal project in action. Jasper, being himself, clapped and cheered as if she had just discovered gravity, before receiving a stern shoulder squeeze from his father and stopping. Veronique's little display of wit caused Clementine's mother to turn to him and mention something or another about Physics. Ha, yeah right. There was no way in hell Jasper would be able to fake his way through a science that he never payed attention to. Not to mention he only took the basic physics class that was required, not enough to fake a presentation. But then, Clementine jumped in with an excuse that her mother had misheard her. As the girl wrapped her arm around his torso, he looked down at her and the words singing left her mouth. It took everything in Jasper not to die laughing right then and there. Certainly, Jasper could sing, and he thought he was not that bad if he did say so himself, but he definitely was not professional quality. Thankfully her mother seemed to buy it as she switched gears into how they met. "Yeah, right. We met in a play..." Thankfully before he had to elaborate on anything Veronique was whisking Clementine's mother away talking about Avery's art. Jasper's own parents however, were still hovering. "Sweetie, are you feeling ok? You were never in a play." His mother mentioned with concern while his father added, "You've been strange all day, what exactly are you up to?" Rhydian took this as his que to step in, "It was a minor thing for English Lit. Class again... Anyway, I think we're going to the next presentation." As terrible as Avery's grandmother was, Jasper and Rhydian were a bit relieved that she was in fact terrible. Her leaving before her granddaughter's presentation was a really good distraction from everything that was happening with Jasper, Clementine and their parents. However, Rhydian and Jasper both were in disbelief that Avery's grandmother was behaving in such a way. Takumi's parents vocally disapproved, to no avail as the elder woman left anyway. Evan looked at his sons, looking rather proud of himself, "Aren't you boys lucky I cleared my schedule so I wouldn't leave like that?" Jasper rolled his eyes while Rhydian gave a whispered 'dad' that basically meant to keep his voice down, not that Evan cared whether or not he insulted anyone. Avery went on with her presentation anyway, showing off her art pieces to them. Takumi's mother and father complimented her greatly mentioning that her art was good enough to be bought as collector's pieces. Which, of course the brothers already knew this. Jasper gave a ruffle to Avery's short hair and grinned, "These are really good Ave. Remember if you ever need a model..." A Mischievous grin and a wink followed his sentence as Rhydian gave him a whack on the arm, "Relax romeo, you have a 'girlfriend' remember?" Rhydian reminded, with a shake of his head as well. Thankfully Sam was up next. They entered the set up as Sam introduced himself and announced that his presentation would serve as lunch. Upon mentioning it was a four course meal Julianna's mother voiced her disapproval. Gywn also didn't seem to approve, "Really, there should have been an option on how much food you'd like to receive..." Evan looked to his wife, "Oh, endulge the boy Gwyn, you don't have to eat everything on your plate..." Jasper and Rhydian already knew the comment wasn't going to end there. They both held their breath in anticipation of what else their father might say outloud. "Besides, we should have guessed someone of his.... background would choose a career based around serving people. " Jasper muttered, "Jesus Christ Dad." Rhydian shook his head embarrassed at their father. As the courses came out, Evan could only make remarks about how such and such 5 star restaurant tasted better, and Gwyn barely ate her meal, mentioning her figure periodically. Jasper and Rhydian ate their food and constantly mentioned allowed how it was really good, because for one they genuinely thought so, and for two they hoped it cancelled out the horridness that was their 'too good for everyone and everything' parents. As everyone finished up their meal, Jasper gave a sigh. He supposed it was his turn. It was either him or Clem and really going after Clem wouldn't do anything except delay his presentation just a little bit longer. So, not putting it off any longer he stood up and cleared his throat, "If you would all follow me... it's my turn." Leading them all in to the auditorium, Jasper held the door open for everyone to enter, mentioning that they should obviously make their way to the front row of seats. As everyone filed in, Jasper disappeared from sight. His parents and Rhydian sat in the front row center, everyone to sit on either sides of them. "Where did Jasper go? Why is it so dark in here?" Gwyn complained as nothing on stage was lit up, just the aisles to get to the seats. Jasper, who enlisted the aide of the drama club backstage hands, had the lights come on to reveal him standing on stage, dressed entirely as a pirate captain, with a white grand piano at his side. Channeling his inner Jack Sparrow with his movements he annouced, "I am Captain Jasper McQuillen, and for your hearing pleasure I will be preforming a familiar piece for you." Evan stood angrily from his seat, face red with anger, "Jasper, don't you ever take anything you do seriously? I mean really, with this attitude of yours I don't know how you are going to accomplish anything in life!" Gwyn did her best to shush her husband, "Honey, at least let our boy try." In an irritated huff Evan sat back down, muttering under his breath how his good for nothing son always pulled stunts like this. Jasper who had a grin, entirely amused at his father's outburst, decided his costume was successful. Since that was the whole point. Giving a wink and blowing a kiss to Clementine - knowing full well he may have ruined the best boyfriend ever illusion - he sat at the piano. Taking in a breath he placed his hands lightly over the piano, before shutting his eyes and letting his fingers do the work. (Press Play here please :] ) As Jasper played, Rhydian looked on at his brother in awe. To be honest, as terrible as it sounds, Rhydian didn't really think his brother was good at anything besides womanizing. It was probably a stupid thing to think since everyone was good at something, but really he just assumed Jasper would fall back on his looks and decide to be a model or something. Since that required more or less minimal effort. His mother also looked a bit surprised, though she knew this was Jasper's track choice, since after all they were paying for this so the school tells them what their children are up to. His father still looked as displeased as ever, even remarking aloud during the performance, "This is not a real career. I don't know why we still let him do this."As Jasper sat on the keys and crossed his arms in his finale, he gave a cheeky grin and bowed. He just awaited the reactions, knowing his father only wanted to yell.

Sam’s turn was up next and Clementine would be lying if she said she was perfectly sane. At this moment, any little more questions or provocations from her mom, she’d probably snap and spill out all her ridiculous lies. It didn’t help that it was almost her turn to present and she literally had nothing in mind. Clementine was just not a decisive person and her career choices went from being a firefighter to a master kung fu specialist to a writer and now she’s still undecided. They follow sam to his long table and Clementine sat next to Jasper feeling calmed now that there’s going to be food in front of her. The decorations on the table was pretty enough to distract her from her hellish thoughts and Clementine could only hear Veronique’s giggles a few seats down. Veronique was between Avery and her mom who sat next to Clementine’s mom. While the two mothers talked about Veronique’s crystal presentation in awe, Veronique was trying to be a good friend for Avery. “So you know, Jasper’s model offer is still on the table,” she said in a soft whisper hoping her aunt or mom didn’t hear them. “But I think Takumi’s body is pretty firm, I mean we saw all of him already. Can’t tell me you don’t agree, Ave?” she elbowed the girl playfully, in hopes that she’ll be distracted from the fact that her grandma rudely left without seeing how wonderful of an artist her grandchild is. Whatever, she missed out on an incredible moment. Her embarrassing comments stopped when Sam brought out the food and soon, the whole table was left with unpleasant comments from Julianna’s mother. Veronique bit her inner cheeks, trying to hold her tongue as she remembered Julianna’s puppy face. "I just want to apologize in advance for anything rude they say. They probably do mean it. We call it brutal honesty, emphasis on brutal. Please don't hate me after today. And...please try to just...” Julianna’s voice echoed followed by those eyes and Veronique’s promise to behave for just today. As if Clementine could tell her cousin was about to explode, she smiled and chimed in agreeing with Sam’s parents. “I love his food, Sam really makes the best meals.” Her smile fell when Jasper and Rhydian’s dad decided to bring in the wealth card. “Well I-“ Clementine was already cut off by Veronique’s cold voice and snide remark. “Well only such unrefined people would not appreciate such delicacies, don’t you think so, Avery?” Her implication caused her mom to glower at the girl which Veronique shrugged in response, completely breaking the good girl image she had going on. She knew she was going to break eventually. While Rhydian and Jasper tried to uplift the mood with better comments about the food, Veronique ate away in silence other than the obvious loud stabbing at her food, annoyed at the whole day altogether. Once the whole meal was over, the smile returned onto Veronique’s face. Jasper said it was going to be his turn and this were finally getting more interesting especially since Veronique and Jasper pretty much majored in how to look sexy, she wasn’t sure what else he had in store for parents day. When everyone settled down at the auditorium, Veronique and Clementine sat next to each other. “Woo, you go Jasper!” she stood up and hollered, causing Veronique’s mom to shake her head and pull her daughter down. “Quiet down Veronique! You’re embarrassing yourself!” Clementine, however, was extremely curious about what he was going to be showing them. She clapped and cheered with Veronique, much to the mothers' dismay. She let out a laugh at his winks and air kiss, her heart thudding, she could feel the nervousness sinking down. Sure, her mom will probably question Clementine but at this point, she didn’t care. Parents day was going to end soon anyways, all this charade was going to be over. She held her breathe as he started playing the piano, the room was completely silent and she couldn’t help but smile the whole time. While the costume was funny in its own rights, Clementine completely consumed by the music. It wasn’t until the end where the enchantment stopped and she broke out of her own daze. To hell with parents day! Veronique stood up on her seat and cheered for him, clapping as she did so. “Wow Jasper, if you weren’t Clementine’s boyfriend, I would have asked you to be mine. Way to go!” she winked playfully at him. Clementine stood up as well, clapping at the performance with a beaming face. “Musician of the year award!” Clementine chuckled. Her mom looked at her, unsure how to respond and Clementine knew that she thought the same thing as Jasper’s father. She awkwardly avoided eye contact with her mom and soon the excitement was over. “Hi everyone! I’m Clementine Monroe and I’m the last performance. Please follow me to the gym,” she said with a smile. She was already dreading Jasper’s parents voicing out how unfeminine Clementine was but it was probably better than telling them she really didn’t come prepared. The gym was already aired out and Clementine went to the lockers to change into her martial arts uniform. She was doing this since she was young and if anything, she was confident about her skills as a martial artist. “Oh mon dieu,” Clementine’s mom said in horror, knowing what was to come. She constantly told Clementine that she had to give up this, become more feminine, that was the only way she was going to obtain a rich husband. While her mom hope she was going to show them something different, Clementine decided to go with what she was best at. Her hair tied up into a pony tail, her black belt was snugly fitted and tighten around her waist. She stood there tall and rather domineering, bowing before stepping onto the blue mat. Her practice partner came out fully dressed as she was and they bowed before both gripped onto each other Judogi. There was a lot of tension as each tried to best one another before Clementine swiftly moved and quickly performed an one arm shoulder throw. Her opponent slammed against the mattress but quickly got up as they resumed their position. Sliding her leg wide, Clementine used gravity to pull her opponent down and tossed them onto their side. She continued pinning her opponent down with a knee choke . Her opponent tapped out and they both resumed their beginning position. Clementine pulled out some more moves before concluding the performance. [You can check out some of her moves below.] Once she was done, she went back to the locker room to change using a cold wet towel to wipe off the sweat on her body. Her hair was still tied up as she approached the group rather timidly. "So that's all-" the girl was quickly pulled away from the group by her mother. The disapproving eyes, the frowns, and the shook of head told Clementine all that she needed to know. Nothing she did was going to be good enough for her mother. "Oh honey, you did great. Your father indulges you too much. This shouldn't be what you do in your spare time," her mom sighed though, she was still somewhat proud of her child. At least Clementine could take care of herself in case of any emergencies. Clementine grinned at her mom and walked to Jasper's side, knowing how disapproving his parents probably will be after this. "Well Jasper, at least now you know I can protect you from danger," she joked. Veronique snickered, her arms around her cousin's shoulder and she pulled her closer. "I feel safer with you already, Minty. Always and forever, my hero. Beautiful performance but never flip me. Seriously, like ever," she said kissing the girl on the cheek. "I bet Jasper feels lucky that his girl friend can save him from other girls now," Veronique couldn't help but add with a laugh.

Before her presentation Avery was shocked when so many of her friends seemed to be upset with the way her grandma had treated her; but what kind of caring parent would bail on their own child’s presentation? Well; Amelia would but Avery supposed she should have just been glad to see the women show her face at all. But she almost wished she hadn’t come it wouldn’t have hurt so much then when she left.
Takumi’s parents trying their best to keep her Grandmother from leaving early was a shock; made her envious slightly to think that he had such caring parents. But he seemed like a nice, caring guy; why did that surprise her so much to think that his parents wouldn’t be the same way? Possibly it was because she really didn’t know the guy so closely. Well; she had seen most of him physically thanks to the incident that wasn’t mentioned very often but that wasn’t spoken of very often. Only when Veronique was feeling like teasing him.
This was more often than not.
Julianna’s parents tutted her grandmothers quick exit as well, but the comment from Jaspers and Rhydian’s father made her blood boil. The man was lucky that she had to present her presentation before she something far worse than her little comment to Julianna’s parents. At least she had had back up from Takumi there.
At the end of her presentation as they all followed Sam down the hallways towards what Avery assumed was close to kitchens Avery took the compliments that came at her. She wasn’t used to some compliments; at least not from adults that seemed legitimately interested. Saying they would buy them; but she almost wished for some criticism. You could only get better from that but perhaps it was a good thing none came. It would have brought her mood down even lower then the sour mood it was in currently thanks to her no good, evil grandmother.
Avery hadn’t really expected Jasper to mess up her hair and she tried her best to just laugh it off. She wasn’t sure why but her cheeks burned at the thought. “Tch, you should say that to your girlfriend bucko.” She mumbled almost bitterly but was glad they moved onto Sam’s presentation which would include food.
Once sitting at the table, ignoring the whole comments from the other parents much like Veronique was trying to do she frowned at her friend. “Oh yeah, that wouldn’t be awkward at all. Probably could draw Takumi from my memory.” She mumbled before feeling her cheeks flush. Shit, had she just said that?
“Pretty much.” She admitted taking a bite of her meal before smirking towards the lady. She tried to be polite but her mood was a lot more sour then she would like to admit. The whole fucking day could end soon for all she cared.
Avery was looking forward to Jaspers presentation. More so because she knew, much like herself, that he wasn’t sure what his future held. Hell; she wasn’t even sure if he went to class much of the time. They both did the same thing skipped a lot. Which wasn’t a bad thing by her standards but getting a taste from his father that wasn’t something he wanted his son to do. He wanted Jasper to be like his twin. All business.
Either way; this was going to be interesting.
Once they made way to the performance stage Avery was getting excited. Senarios flashed in her mind to what was going to appear on the stage. And she wasn’t disappointed. A pirate Jasper appeared, much like the beloved Jack Sparrow. But the piano? That she hadn’t been expecting.
“What defines a real career?’ Avery mumbled under her breath towards Jaspers parents before shutting her mouth and listening to the end of the presentation. She clapped excitedly along with everyone else. “Who knew you could play that well.” She teased him back elbowing him in the pirate costume.
“I am going to have to draw that.” She snickered gesturing to all of the costume.
Finally it was the last presentation. Clementine was another she was interested in seeing. Why? Well, she wasn’t sure what the girl liked to do other then try and pair people up in her mind. She was the matchmaker for the reason and liked her Disney movies. Then again, what teenage girl didn’t. Avery even harbored her love for the movies but out of plain sight unlike Clementine.
Once in the gym Avery crossed her arms over her chest and smirked. Listening to her mothers comments she knew very well that this wasn’t something that she wanted her daughter to be doing. Good; it was going to be awesome then.
And Avery wasn’t wrong.
With each movement that Clementine made her body do she was amazed that such a small person could lift and kick so high. Well, she wasn’t going to worry about her in the bars anymore. She could handle herself no problem. Perhaps even better then Avery herself.
“You should teach me some of those. I’d like to kick some peoples asses.” She joked looking around the room.
Finally she was going to be able to leave the parents right? With all the presentations done she could leave and hide in her room or a bar or anything that didn’t have the snobby parents from hell?

Takumi would be kidding himself if he didn't say he wasn't disgusted with Julianna and the brother's parents. Especially Mr. McQuillen. That sly racist comment he so nonchalantly inserted into his conversation with his wife, really, it was unbelievable. He looked to his father and mother, who were obviously trying their best to ignore it, but felt thoroughly awkward now that it was already said. Honestly, his family thought the meal was quite good.
Thankfully, everyone seemed to have finished their meals in a timely manner and they were off to the next presentation. Jasper volunteered himself to present before Clementine. Takumi had to admit he was rather curious what a guy like that might do in the times he actually did go to class. It was hard to imagine what Jasper would want to do with his life since he didn't seem to be motivated by anything except women.
Heading into the auditorium, it was dark, Jasper's mother complained enough about that for all of them. They didn't have to wait long, though, for Jasper to emerge wearing a pirate outfit. Takumi couldn't help but laugh. He, himself, thought school should be taken more seriously, but really this was so typical of a guy like Jasper that it was funny. He didn't understand why he would have expected anything else to happen. Takumi's father also laughed heartily finding it amusing, while his mother had the same expression surely Jasper's father probably had. She believed in taking academics seriously as well.
Once Jasper started playing though a look of shock fell over the entire family. It was certainly unexpected for him to play so beautifully and professionally. Moving your fingers across the keys that quickly was not easy, not even for some pros, so it was a shock that Jasper, who was often lazy to even get out of bed, was so good at it. Once he was through they all clapped. Veronique and Clementine along with Avery took it upon themselves to cheer. Takumi joined in as well. Jasper probably responded well to flattery and praise anyway, since his father seemed to only always put him down.
This time was no exception either. Harsh words were all that seemed to meet with Jasper. Next up was Clementine though, to save the mood and lead everyone along. Takumi was shocked by her presentation as well. Clementine was always so cheerful and concerned with love, having crazy fighting skills was not something he would think she had. She was met with half-hearted praise from her mother, but that was it. So she nervously joked about her fake relationship with Jasper. Right, he had sort of forgotten about that, so he assumed that meant they were doing good and drawing the focus away from it so they could fake it.
The day wasn't quite over yet though. Their parents had to actually leave the premises for that to happen. So they made their way toward the front of the school, where their parents would presumably be on their way and they could go back to their school year.

Julianna's face was sullen already, having been constantly prodded and monitored by her meticulous parents, but her expression became even more crestfallen as Mr. McQuillen spoke with obvious derision. Her face lit with color, and she noted Takumi and his family looking uncomfortable as well. Sam wasn't the only one of them who felt the scorn of his statement, and beside her, her mother crossed her arms tightly. Even her father, who had earlier been bonding with the man over their shared interest, seemed put off by this comment, placing a hand on his wife's shoulder. Julianna couldn't help but feel somehow relieved that her own family wasn't...well, rather, she was glad that her parents never said such...awful things so blatantly. They were passive-aggressive, critical, scornful, judgmental, but even in the wake of all of that, tact was still there. A tiny, tiny shred, but more than she could speak of for Mr. McQuillen.
Thankfully, the meal finished without any more major fuss. Jasper elected to go next, and Julianna puzzled over why they went to an auditorium. He disappeared, and the group milled about, waiting for him to do something. His parents were frustrated at being made to wait, but the reaction to his reappearance was even stronger. Beside her, her father gave a long-suffering sigh. Julianna had to grin at Jasper's appearance, but she could tell that her parents found this entire display trivial. They didn't like people making jokes of serious business, and this did seem a bit...ridiculous.
Perhaps more ridiculous was what happened next. Amazing, beautiful music poured from the piano, and Julianna had to do a double take to see that Jasper was, indeed, playing it. How? "Julianna, close your mouth. Please, behave like a lady." her mother hissed to her, scolding. Julianna flushed and shut her mouth, not having realized she was gaping at the stage.
Unfortunately, his parents didn't seem to love the display, and perhaps worse, Clementine's mother also didn't seem pleased. Perhaps he'd strayed a bit far from the Dreamboat Boyfriend story. Well, it was bound to happen...eventually.
The group rushed on to Clementine's presentation, perhaps to stop the implosion that seemed to be happening with the McQuillens. Julianna was once again floored by the demonstration, but this time, she managed to keep her mouth shut. She would've never guessed that Clementine, little, girly Clementine could be so fierce. It was impressive, even if her mother turned up her nose as if this display was somehow any less graceful than Julianna's dance, or Jasper's song. Julianna thought it did have a sort of beauty, an impressive skill and strength.
As if a trend of the day, her mother didn't seemed thrilled, but at this point, the group seemed to have doubled up on itself. The friends were shielding each other, comforting each other from any scorn. They wouldn't let Clementine be beaten down as well. Julianna smirked at the little joke about the fake boyfriend, but her face was struggling to maintain a pleasant demeanor.

Well, Jasper's secret was out. He did have a secret talent and wasn't just a lazy loser who didn't have any plan with his life. Ok, that wasn't true. He still didn't have a plan, but he did at least have a talent to fall back on. Not to mention he did at least attend all of his music classes. It helped that they were in the afternoon and didn't require homework really. That made it all the more appealing to attend.
Rhydian clapped for his brother, in awe and ashamed at the same time, that he truly thought Jasper had absolutely nothing going for him. He didn't know something about his own brother. How horrible was that? No time to focus on that now, he could see the anger rising in his father's body, ready to come out in the form of harsh words, toward his older brother. His mother was already placing comforting hands onto her husband, whispering to him, probably in an attempt to calm down for now and discuss this later in private.
Thankfully Clementine jumped in ready to show off her presentation, "Well, it's Jasper's girlfriend's turn. I'm sure you're eager to see what she has in store!" Rhydian stated as he put an arm around his father and guided him away from Jasper. His mother in tow. Avery remarked that she would draw Jasper in costume before they left the auditorium to which Jasper grinned and put an arm around her, "Any time. I borrowed this from the drama department, but I'm sure I can get it any time."
As they entered the gym both brothers had to wonder what exactly Clementine had in mind as her talent. Maybe gymnastics? Nah, there wasn't enough of that stuff around. She stood in front of them and introduced herself before going in to her martial arts routine. "Oh my... How..." Gwyn struggled to find a word to describe what she thought. Boyish? Unlady-like? Mannish? Evan on the other hand stood in silence with his stoic face on, Rhydian was certain he wasn't even truly paying attention to the girl's presentation, he was brooding.
As Clem finished her mom half complimented her daughter, and the cousins made jokes about how she would be able to protect her faux beau, Jasper from any danger. Of course Jasper couldn't help but play along. He dramatically draped himself over Clementine and in a damsel in distress voice he added, "Oh my hero!" With a wink and a chuckle, he placed his arm around her properly and faced her mother, suddenly looking serious. "I do like strong women. Besides, I don't want to have to worry about her any time she goes out. At least I know she can handle herself."
Rhydian could only shake his head. It was unbelievable they were really getting through this day. It was finally almost over, the only thing left was to say goodbye to the parents. "Well, should we go back to the front lawn then?" Rhydian stated, eager to get the parents out of here, he lead the way.
Upon reaching the front lawn they were greeted by Professor Greene. "Well, I hope all of our parents have enjoyed spending some time with their children and seeing what their lives have been like for their duration of schooling years here." Evan made a displeased scoff to which professor Greene raised and eyebrow at but continued on anyway, he gestured toward the black town cars that came to pick up each set of parents, "Now is, unfortunately, the time to say goodbye."
Gwyn quickly hugged and kissed both of her boys multiple times, "Oh, mommy loves you boys. Behave ok? And Jasper take care of that girl. She's too good for you." And with that she disappeared into the car. From their father they got much less. Simply a stern look and, "We will discuss certain matters later." And with that they were in their car and off. With his parents gone, Jasper quickly decided to give on last hurrah to their charade and joined Clementine's side once more.
Giving a hug and a kiss to each cheek to Clementine's mom, he put on his most charming smile, "It was really great to meet you. And don't worry I'll take care of mon petit chou." He gave a wink to his mother, before suddenly taking Clementine into his arms, dipping her back and giving her a nice big kiss. Rhydian couldn't help the facepalm that happened and Professor Greene looked more confused than ever. Jasper gently placed Clementine onto her feet, and brushed her cheek gently, in a soft voice stating, "I'll let you have a proper good bye with your mother Ma belle."
Joining his brother's side, Rhydian shook his head and under his breath muttered, "You ham."

A laugh erupted from Clementine, “Avery, you just need to glare at people and they’ll back away.” The girl was probably the scariest girl she knows other than Veronique when angered. She didn’t have to learn martial arts to scare anyone away. Clementine didn’t like being last and now that this whole event is over, she just wanted to go back to being normal again. The whole fake relationship with Jasper was taking a toll on her and she knew that he was going to remind her of it every minute. She snickered at Jasper’s dramatic reaction and his comment was rather heartwarming. But she knew better than to take anything to heart. This was after all, an act. Veronique was eyeing her cousin with an amused smile placed on her face and the cousins agreed that this day needed to be over…now.
When they approached the front lawn, Professor Greene greeted them and Veronique has never been so happy to see him to escort the parents out. “Never thought the day where I would say thank you to Prof Greene,” she whispered to Avery and Clementine. Her cousin bit her lips to maintain a smile and cough in her giggles. Veronique hugged her mom and little was said between them. Her mom gave her the usual ‘I expect great things from you Veronique’ look and waited in front of the gates for Clementine’s mom.
Mrs. Monroe smiled at Jasper’s declaration and returned his hug and kisses. Clementine was suddenly whisked into Jasper’s arms and flushed at kiss. When he gently placed her down, Clementine nodded at his words. This is all an act, get ahold of yourself! She turned to her mom full of smiles. “See, mom, told you he was wonderful.”
“Thank you, take good care of my girl, I know she can be a lot of trouble,” she gently called out before she turned to Clementine with a soft smile. “Try to graduate without too much fuss, my dear,” she hugged her little girl and gave her a kiss on each cheek. “I love you, check in with me every day and remember, use protection.”
A gasp evoked from Clementine and she shook her head. “Oh god! Mother! What are you implying?!” Veronique, being rather closed by as she was waiting for the whole thing to be over, started to cough loudly and patted her aunt’s shoulder reassuringly.
“Don’t worry auntie, I’ve taken care of that,” she winked to Clementine only to further infuriate the girl.
‘I . Hate. You.’ Clementine mouthed, glaring at her cousin when her mom wasn’t looking. Once Mrs. Monroe left, the girl buried her face into her hands as she crouched down. “Oh god, this is awful. Why are you always insinuating things, V?!”
“Love you too, Minty,” Veronique crouched down to hug her cousin before they both got up. “Let’s head back, it’s been a long day.” Once the group walked back to their dorm, Veronique took off the hair tie and released her braid. Clementine plopped down onto the couch exhausted from the whole ordeal.
“Never again,” Clementine shook her head.
“Tell me about it."

The day finally came to an end, and to be honest, Sam was not remotely amused. The 4-course meal he prepared was the top of his game, his ace, and to think that there are certain quarters that a few parents were complaining that a 4-course meal for lunch was too much, made him slightly depressed. Was it the steak? Was it the soup? The appetizers? The more he thought about it, the more depressed he got. While Takumi's parents and his own were positive about his cooking, it was the other two pair of parents that irked him. And at this meeting, Sam could say for sure that he has no love for Jasper and Rhydian's parents. Not. One. Bit.
When Professor Greene came to escort the parents out, Clementine and Jasper put up a final show of affection which would have amused Sam, but not this time. A gloom set over the cook. Even when Sam's parents waved him goodbye before leaving the school grounds and told him not to mind others' opinions, his face was less cheerful and more gloomy.
Back in the common room, Clementine and Veronique flopped onto the couch, expressing fatigue. But Sam just sat on a solo seat, his face gloomy and his thoughts fluttering into some unknown depths of self-assessment and depression. Not even Julie's forewarning had made a difference in his mood, his oil-scalded and knife-scarred, coarse hands set on the armrests of the seat, shaking and trembling like he had a horrid nightmare. Even for his family's business standpoint, the food his father and himself churned out were of Michelin-grade masterpieces, their motto of every dish is made with full dedication, attention to detail and care of quality, quashed by some snobby goody-two-shoes.

“I do pride myself on my scary looks.” Avery admitted giving a slight smug smile towards Clem. Course this was all before the kiss with Jaxon and the display of parents saying good bye to their kids. Avery did her best to just ignore the whole endvoire considering she was just glad to have all the snobs leaving. Sure most of them were fine but the whole day had been taxing beyond belief.
Avery was going to be thrilled to bits once she could go back to bed and ignore the rest of the year and just do her art. Though she did make a pact with herself, like hell she was going home for Christmas this year She would find somewhere else to go if she had to.
But that was better to think about later instead she followed the group back to the dorm. Unlike Clem, Veronique and Sam Avery went to her room to dig around for something she had been keeping for this day exactly. After rummaging for a lot longer then she had first anticipated she found exactly what she needed.
Good old fashion Vodka. Big bottle in case the day went shitty. Course it had, like she had anticipated.
“Alright the day was shit anyone for a something a little more fun?” Avery spoke looking to the three who seemed to melt to the couch. “Cheer up in only a few shots you could forget all the parents we are supposed to love.” She chuckled trying her best to get everyone in a little better spirts.
“I was saving this just for this occasion.” Avery admitted.
