(Before I post, approximately how old would you want them to be now? According to what we had last time, everyone's ages are about:
Bess: 11 Jack: 10 Anna: 10 Mark: 9 Cass: 9 Hans: 8 Alice: 8 Kim: 7 Greg: 6
I simply came up with an appropriate age for Mark and Alice on the spot. xD Also, James and Kelly should have a baby too! XD)

(( I went on to the second stage in the ages we had set up.
Bess: 14 Jack: 13 Anna: 13 Mark: 12 Cass: 12 Hans: 11 Alice: 11 Kim: 10 Greg: 6
Although, I would not mind jumping to older ages if ya wish it to be that way))

(Maybe we should jump to older ages. Lol. Like, maybe Cass would be around 16 years old now? Easier for us to get more development going on when they are adolescents. xD And a little drama here and there. You know, those pubescent drama. LOL. Is it alright with you?)

Time really does fly. In a blink of an eye, seconds turn to minutes, minutes to hours, and hours to days and months and years. Before him, Lucas witnessed the group of children grow up in speeds he could never hoped to imagine. One moment ago they were merely infants, and the next they are standing as adolescents, some almost adults. It was an impressive sight, and a worthwhile experience to grow up with them, allowing him to learn more than he was prepared to. Throughout the years, they've managed to save more survivors, adults and children alike. Some adults left them when they landed in safe countries, some stayed behind to share their dreams. Most of the children grew up to be wonderful people, helping Lucas and the others in saving more survivors from the warzone.
And then there were the two special ones. He was relieved to know that Hans and Anna were not shunned by the other kids just because they were different. It was hard explaining to them about Hans and Anna, but they accepted it much easier than he thought. On the other hand, it was James and Kelly who needed some time to accept it, while Miss Hutcherson merely took the kids' sides.
Bess grew up to be a wonderful lady of 18. She was beautiful, both in person and in heart. Being the eldest of the kids, and having spent the past few years under the 'tutelage' of Miss Hutcherson, Bess was the perfect mother and sister to everyone in the ship, even to Lucas, James and Kelly sometimes. Greg just turned 13 recently, but his mind almost never changed from his childhood days. The boy remained an optimistic and active child, but he was the big brother to the younger orphans now. And he still remained loyal to Jack.
Hans changed drastically from when he was a mere boy of 8. Throughout the years, he had been extremely grateful to his best friend and his teacher, Annabelle. She was the reason he could change, and she was the reason he could be so much of a better person today. He was indeed grateful for that. Controlling his powers became as easy as breathing for him, when just a few years ago the power was threatening the lives of the people around him. Because of that, he became more confident about himself, less timid, bolder. And he also spends almost all of his time with Anna, sometimes with Cass and the others, and some other times helping out the adults.
Even today, Hans spent most of his time after breakfast with Anna in their daily training routine. They had a room specifically for their training, and usually no one else is allowed to enter. Though the children quite often disobeyed that rule. Today, Hans was learning how to use his powers to turn a simple raw metal to a weapon that Anna would name him. It wasn't easy, having to picture every detail of the weapon and to recreate it by applying force on the metal through his brainwaves. It required intense concentration, and that was why they had been doing this since they finished breakfast just now.
Just when the metal almost seemed to have a tip resembling a sword, a knock on the door followed by a loud creaky noise as the door opened caused the metal to just fall on the floor, leaving further louder noises, echoing throughout the room and to the corridors. "Cass!" Hans whined slightly, sighing as he fell backwards to the floor. It was seriously exhausting, but Cass came in just at the 'right' time. "Let me rest a bit, I'll start again in 5 minutes," he said to Anna, panting between each words.

Cass bounced into the room, flopping down next to Hans’ spot on the floor. He sounded very tired. She was fairly certain the whole training he and Anna were always up to was about as trying as the physical training she often did. Cass imitated his whine, “Haaaans.” She smiled, “You’re happy to see me, don’t even pretend you’re not. You need a break anyway. You two have been working since breakfast. It’s nearly lunch.” Speaking of, she would have to get her rear in gear and help with that before someone came and nagged her about it. Cass had mixed feelings on helping with meal preparation nowadays. It involved a lot of cramped spaces with a boisterous Kim or Mark on occasions. She also had rather mixed feelings on Mark. But that was beside the point. The matter at the moment was bugging Hans until he insisted on training again. If anything, he was persistent. Cass looked around the room, noticing the metal on the floor. She queried, “How’s it going? Well?” The metal looked a bit pointy. She was never really sure what was going on in the room. Maybe if she asked someone would answer, but Cass had never really wanted to pry. It seemed private. She was just glad that Hans seemed happier. Much more comfortable with himself. Not quite so afraid. And that was really all that mattered. It seemed like only yesterday that she had held the crying boy in the wreckage of his own house. And they had all run away to a big ship in the sky. It was quite the adventure really. Meanwhile, Jack was busy in the ship’s engine room. It was incredibly noisy, his ears always rung a bit afterwards, despite the muffling devices kept over his ears. They helped considerably with the noise, but it was still loud. Not to mention communication in itself was rather difficult. There was a lot of wild gesticulation going on. Thankfully, there was not often need for conversation. Jack did not really remember at what point he had started taking an interest in engines and started helping out. He supposed the interest came from his youthful interest in magic. He had learned about how things worked with magic and working with gears is much of the same elements. Puzzling out how things worked to make other things go. Very fascinating. Jack tinkered with the underside of a part of the engine. Something had been sticking, causing a rather unfortunate grinding, which the head engineer had worried would cause the ship to have trouble staying afloat. And that was especially dangerous considering how often they flew over war-torn nations. Landing unexpectedly would definitely lead to a fight. And more difficulty saving more people. Jack tightened a gear and wriggled out from underneath. He smiled, giving a thumbs-up to the engineer. The man grinning in return, testing for the grinding noise by increasing the speed slightly. No noise. Jack mock brushed his hands off. Job well done. Kim skipped off, not quite sure what to do with herself. She had a bit of time left before she was to be helping set the table. Kim found it interesting that they were all still stuck on kitchen duty. Since the day they came here. The younger (newer) orphans also helped. They all rotated days. Today she was to help. As were Cass, Greg, Mark, and Bess. Kim believed that Bess lived in the kitchen, no matter how much anyone else told her otherwise. Even though there was a bed out of the kitchen for her. Kim just felt that Bess had really become the motherly character in the group, always helping around. Kim admired it, but she was glad it was not her. Sure, she did not mind helping around, but she preferred running around helping with the crew and was dying to go out on the ratlines, although no one had let her yet. Even Cass seemed a bit reticent to support the thought. Kim felt she was old enough to go out if she wanted to. She would soon enough. And she would show them that they were right in letting her. For now, she wandered down the halls, looking for someone else to ask riddles. Kim came up with many of them herself now. She was very clever with them, if she did say so herself.

(Sorry for my absolute lateness! New laptop finally arrived! After the old one decided to just suddenly malfunction one morning. -.- More assignments are coming in next week as well but I'll try to reply as often as I can! Sorry Elise!)
Hans's loud breathing slowly stabilized after the rest. While he would appreciate if there was no interruption during his training, Cass always seemed to come in at a good time, the time when he most needed a break. Anna wouldn't force him to go on if he didn't want to, but Hans always felt he needed to quicken the pace of his training. He had almost mastered all the simple basic skills that he needed, but the molding metal one was still a tough one. Having to concentrate so much on a mental image and force a metal to appear as the same sounded so much easier when spoken. After all, Hans had preferred more to just telekinetically move metals to attack, but that would be dangerous in a lot of occasions. Molding metal is his best bet now. Once he could master this, he could join Lucas on his little missions, and that was what he was aiming for. "I need to do this, Cass. Luke says I can join him once I master this. The more I wait the more anxious and tired I become. I don't have anything else to do after breakfast so it makes perfect sense if I spend all my time training, so that I can join Luke and James, even if it's just one day earlier," Hans said, pushing himself up from the ground and wrapping his arms around his knees.
As usual, Bess was in charge of cooking, and of organizing all the kitchen duties. Since she was 16, Miss Hutcherson had basically left Bess to be in charge of the kitchen. She loved it in there, being able to cook and take care of the others. Bess was also often praised for her cooking, and since everyone seemed to enjoy the meals by her, Bess felt that it was the job she was meant to do. Being the oldest orphan around helped, as the others would usually obey her even if she wasn't bossy. But sometimes the younger ones, even Greg needed to be pushed to help out in the kitchen. "Greg! What took you so long? You knew that during kitchen duties you'd have to be here by 12! It's almost half past 12 now and everyone's going to be hungry by 1!" Bess said, without turning back to look at Greg, who just entered the kitchen with his hands in his pockets, obviously reluctant to even come to the kitchen. Greg turned around before he answered, "But Mark isn't even here yet! I'm not the latest!"
"Who says I ain't here yet?" Mark's voice trailed from outside the kitchen, as he entered behind Greg. "I ain't like some irresponsible spoiled brat who could only whine even after being late for his duties," he continued as he approached the kitchen table. Despite his ill mouth, Mark was always punctual to his duties. He had came in 10 minutes before 12 and had helped Bess with chopping vegetables and stuffs and now he just came back from his short breaktime while waiting for Bess to finish cooking. "Cass and Kim should be here by now. I swear that the whole lot of you were all a bunch of slackoffs. We have to work to get what we earn, even in this airship," Mark commented, obviously talking about Greg and his group of friends who joined the airship the same time. But that would include both Bess and Jack, whom he sort of respected. "Except of course, Bess and Jack. You, Kim, Cass and Hans, all four of you had been slacking off since day one. From what I see, even the younger orphans are more helpful than the four of you would ever be."
Bess merely shook her head, hearing the little bickering going on at the back. She had matured quite early for her age, possibly due to her interests as well, but she had learned from experience that arguments like these would eventually stop if she ignored them. After all, they were boys and they were at that age. But it doesn't really help that even Cass and Kim were as stubborn as Mark and Greg were. If only they were more like Anna, Jack, Hans, and Alice. Things wouldn't be that noisy around here then.
"Alright you two, start setting up the table for lunch. Mark, go get Cass and Kim to help out. Wouldn't want them to start making habits of being late for duties," Bess said, her eyes still focused on her cooking. Mark and Greg were having glaring contests but at Bess's words, they both left the room at the same time, both holding cutleries to be set up. After leaving the cutleries on the table, Mark left to look for Cass and Kim. He saw Kim first, skipping around the hallway, obviously filled with riddles that were ready to be tested. Before she could toss him one, if she would even think of doing so, Mark quickly intervened, "Do you know that you should be in the kitchen now? Sheesh, the lot of you."
Mark didn't want to stay long after passing her the message. If anything he couldn't stand Kim's riddles, maybe because he could never solve them. He would never admit it, but Mark was always the brauns, not the brains. First he got to Cass's room, knocking the door as he waited for an answer. If there was anyone in this airship who he had trouble bossing around, it was Cass. She always seemed to speak on par with him, and she's pretty good at arguments as well. He didn't like her that much, but for some reasons he actually quite like to see her and talk to her everyday, even though he'd be in a bad mood by then. He hated the feeling. After waiting for a while and hearing no replies from inside, he opened the door and peered inside. Cass would get in a rage fit if Mark had just opened her door like that. But there was no one inside.
If she wasn't in her room and not helping out in the kitchen, there would only be one place she'd be at. And Mark didn't like that idea at all. Turning back, he headed to the training room Anna and Hans always used, a frown carved to his forehead. Without knocking, he just banged the door opened, only to find Cass there, sitting beside Hans. He hated seeing the two of them together. "Cass, you're wanted at the kitchen now!" He yelled it out, glaring at Hans as he did so.

((It’s totally cool! After all, this just took me two days to get to…. Sorry about your laptop, I hope that this one is much better than the other.))
Cass leaned back on the heels of her hands, considering his statement. All this training was definitely going to be an advantage when he asked for the possibility of running around with Luke and James. Kelly went out on occasion as well, but it seemed to Cass the boys were generally out without her. That seemed a bit suspicious to Cass. Personally, her goal was to go out as well, but she had not gotten to that point yet. Though, Cass chalked that up to the fact that she was waiting for Hans to go out as well. At least, that was what she told herself. She would rather go out than be stuck inside on boring housekeeping duties. She could do so much more than that. Cass sighed, “I get it, cool it. Just if you train so much, you’re going to wear yourself out. You’ll get there.” She added, “By your lack of an answer to my question, I presume it’s only going mildly well?” Nothing seemed to be destroyed in the room. No smoking holes or otherwise obvious signs of trouble. Hans had been training for years now, of course he was good. Cass did not understand why he did not seem to understand what great progress he had made. Especially considering where he had started. With absolutely no control. Kim skidded to a halt when Mark appeared. Already time to help with lunch? She must have lost track of time. Thinking of clever riddles had that sort of effect on her. Sometimes she wondered what everyone else did for fun. After all, there was not exactly much to do on the ship when they weren’t actually landing and gathering supplies. Besides helping in the kitchen, but Kim did not really could that as something fun to do. Kitchen duty was just a chore, not fun. Still, Kim would have to go help or risk someone yelling at her. Then she would not get anyone to get anyone to answer her riddles. Or even let her ask them. Kim opened her mouth to ask Mark a riddle, but he was already gone. She sighed, how boring. Kim continued skipping, changing her path towards the kitchen instead of in the direction she had been going previously. Kim crossed the threshold into the kitchen, frowning slightly. She asked Bess, queen of the kitchen, “What do you want me to do?” Hopefully, she would get an interesting task. Like running and getting everyone for lunch. That was fun. And then she did not have to be stuck in the stupid kitchen. Though Greg was here, so that was fun. Cass jumped slightly when the door slammed open. And Hans had thought she was disruptive. At least she did not slam doors around like that. Although she did open then without knocking on occasion. That was just a quirk for her, but with Mark, it was a serious detrimental trait. As much as she would have liked to ignore Mark, he actually had a semi-important message. Lunchtime? Already? Honestly, she must have slept longer than she had initially believed. She should really invest some effort into actually checking the time on occasion. Although, even when she didn’t, someone else was always likely to come tell her she was supposed to be somewhere else. It was not like she had any imperative duties like Jack did. Jack kept the ship running properly. Cass only helped keep everyone from being hungry. And while she really loved eating, she did not consider it half as important as many of the other jobs. What she really wanted was quite the same as Hans. To actually go out and help save people. That was what she wanted. That was actually important. That was the only real way to pay their dues for the rescue. And as an added bonus, she would earn Lucas’ respect. Surely. Even without that, she wanted to save people. Fight the power, even in a minor way. Cass would not let this war tear the country apart. The best way to do that was through the people. But she was getting side-tracked. There was still the matter of lunch, whether or not it was important to the condition of the world. It had to be done. If she could not be trusted with her duties here, then she could never be trusted to actually go save people. Cass sighed, “Later, Hans. Good luck.” She stood up, glowering at Mark, intercepting the glare directed at Hans. Cass rolled her eyes, carrying on a conversation normal people might actually have, “Oh, hello, Mark….Hey, Cass….Did you need something?....Yeah, actually, you know you’re late to help with lunch and we need your help…..Geez, am I late? Man, I’m sorry, I must have lost track of time. Let’s go.” She raised a brow, “Would that be so difficult, Mark? They’re called manners.” She walked past Mark, moving to close the door behind them. Cass prompted, “Well, come on. I thought we were late.” She gestured towards the hallway, as if she were the one in an incredible hurry. Once the two belligerent children were gone, the room was considerably more peaceful. Between the two of them, there was a lot of energy. Which could be rather overwhelming. Especially when they were fighting, which was about ninety percent of the time they were together. Anna questioned their ability to hold a civil conversation. Anna reappeared with two glassed of water. Anna teased, “Now kiss. Watching them is like reading one of those romance novels where the main couple fights a lot before they get together.” Anna giggled at her own thought. She offered one glass to Hans on the ground. She figured that since they were on a break anyway, they both might as well get a drink of water before starting up again. Although, the downside was, they would only be able to train for a little bit longer before they would need to go eat lunch. Training on an empty stomach was never a good idea. Anna continued, “I hope your break was relaxing, so we can make the best use of what time we have left.”

(Is it just me or are our posts getting longer? Lol!) Bess was almost done with the last bit of the cooking. All that's left was the chicken in the oven and the food's all set! Quickly stealing a glance on the wall clock, she was glad and felt somewhat accomplished that she managed to finish cooking five good minutes before 1. Turning, she quickly washed her hands and wiped it dry with the cloth hanging nearby, before wearing a kitchen mitten on her right hand and opening the oven to let the fragrant salty smell out. With a fork on the other free hand she gently poked into the whole chicken, testing to see if it's cooked enough. Satisfied, she took it out from the oven and could immediately feel the piercing heat, despite the protection of the mitten. "Hot hot hot!" She cried softly, turning without noticing Greg coming towards her. "Wait, Gr-!" Before she could finish her warning, Greg had noticed the looming danger and swiftly hopped one step backwards. "Woah! Now that's close! You almost killed me there, Bess!" "Well you almost cost us our main dish for lunch! Didn't say I anything before about running in the kitchen?" Bess said, sighing with relief when the chicken was still safe in her hands, and of course Greg. "What, so the chicken's more important than me?" Greg said, sighing. Just then, Kim had entered the kitchen, slightly annoyed about having to commit to chores as usual. Bess appreciated the fact that at least Kim knew not to ask riddles at certain times. She used to pester Bess and the others all the time, without any awareness of the time and location and situation. But that girl still has a long way to go, like coming to her kitchen duty on time. For a moment there, Bess was about to ask her to gather everyone for lunch but Kim's attitude just irked her. Seriously, must she always be this irritated by simple chores? "You know what? Since it's been a while since you last washed the dishes, why not you share the workload with Cass and myself today? You two have been late almost everytime you're on duty. Greg and Mark however, can do with just serving the dishes now," Bess said, taking off the mitten after she placed the chicken on the kitchen table. Without waiting for an answer from Kim, she proceeded onto moving the chicken from the tray to a new large plate, ready to be served. Greg on the other hand heard everything while he was busy setting up the table. He came in from behind Kim with a smirk. "Sucker," he said teasingly, walking past her to grab the last dish, the chicken to be served. "Greg, go call the others for lunch after you put that chicken down. And if Kim is nice enough she'd help you out as well," Bess said, without taking a glance at Kim at all. She wasn't angry at the girl, but Bess did think that the girl needed to start growing up a little. Mark didn't like her one bit. The way she acted so sarcastically, the way she treated him so coldly while being so friendly with Hans despite him ignoring her all the time. He hated all of it. "Who needs manners when they are talking to a crud like you?" He grumbled back, folding his arms as Cass walked ahead of him. Before the door of the training was fully closed, Mark turned back and made a quick eye contact with Hans. He narrowed his eyes at that instant, and Hans merely blinked without so much as a response. Cass's calling made him turn back forward to her again, as he followed behind her. "Correction: It's you who are late. I was there even before 12! Don't even think of putting me on the same league as you guys," he said irritatedly, speeding up his footsteps and walking past her now, leading the way instead. Hans merely stared as the two left, as noisy as usual. He could never understand Mark's anger at him. Well, he supposed Mark was always angry at everyone, no, actually just Cass, Kim, Greg and himself. But unlike the others, Mark never seemed to yell at Hans. All he did to him was glare, shooting him with glances that seemingly could kill. Mark had been like that since they first joined. Maybe it was because unlike Cass, Kim and Greg, Hans never argued back. Thinking about it, Hans never really backed down either. However, Mark did seem especially irritable whenever Cass was around. Anna's voice didn't quite surprise him, he was quite used to her just suddenly coming out of nowhere. No, in fact, it was more like he could sense her presence all the time, and knew exactly when she would show herself. It was as if there was a special connection between them. Anna probably felt the same about Hans. He turned back to Anna and took one glass from her, gulping it all down at once before placing the cup on the floor beside him. He chuckled softly at her statement, turning his attention back to the closed door again. "Do you think Mark's always grumpy because he likes Cass? It's so weird though. Shouldn't he be happy around her then? And why is he so intent of getting rid of me? I don't really get him at all," Hans said, purely curious about Mark's series of behaviors, harboring no resentment or anger on his side. He stood up with the cup in his hand, now turning back to Anna. "But you're right, time for us to continue," Hans said, moving the cup to a nearby table with his brainwaves through the metal handle of the cup. Moving objects like that require training as well and that was why they purposely had metal handles on the cups in the training room. But before Hans could start focusing on his training again, his stomach began to growl. "Okay, my tummy doesn't want training now. You suppose we can just continue after lunch?" He asked, turning to Anna with an apologetic grin. (Anyways, just an update: Lucas and James are currently out. So I suppose Miss Hutcherson and Kelly are somewhere in the airship, along with Alice and the other orphans. Kelly should be taking care of her baby in the room, and Miss Hutcherson you can decide, since she's your character. Alice should be taking care of and playing with the younger orphans. And lol, Hans you blur doofus. xD So who is Cass interested in now? XD Hans, Mark or Lucas? )

((Mondays are a super great time...let me tell you....Time of my life right there. And the posts are getting longer, it's because we both just try to make sure not to be shorter than the other. Miss Hutcherson can be doting on the kids since she dumped kitchen duty on Bess forever. And Cass....oh Cass....I'd have to say Lucas, although she might be a bit miffed on the matter of not getting to go out and help because that's Cass. I don't know why she hasn't been allowed to go out yet. It could be because they don't want her to, don't think she's responsible enough, are waiting until Hans is ready, whatever you think is suitable. Although, I kinda want to smush Cass together with Mark just to see what might happen. Chaos. Also note that Cass is better trained than I wrote in that first post becuase I was writing her at twelve instead of sixteen. Just noticed that little bit.))
Kim scowled at the prospect of doing dishes. That meant that she would be stuck staying afterwards to wash the dishes. That always felt like hours and her fingers always felt gross afterwards. Although, Kim did not mind splashing around in the water too terribly. Water was more fun than hot food. After all, hot food was dangerous and could burn her hands, whereas water would only make her hands look silly for a little bit. In the end, Kim kind of preferred it this way. She liked working with Cass and Bess more than Mark and Greg. Mostly Mark, not really Greg. Mark always teased them and antagonized them about how they did not belong. He always insisted that they never contributed to the chores at all, even though they all helped out. Usually. Kim mentally edited her statement, he berated everyone in the group except for Bess and Jack. Obviously because he had no grounds to say that they did not help out. After all, Jack was constantly helping with the ship’s engines and Bess nearly lived in the kitchen. Kim was still looking for the bed in the kitchen, she knew it must be hidden somewhere. Most of Kim did not really believed that Bess slept in the kitchen, but a small part of her liked to imagine it that way. She never really looked very hard for fear of shattering the illusion. That still left her with the thought of Mark hating on their group, especially Cass. He never seemed to do that to any of the other new orphans. Just their group. Kim had yet to figure out why. Maybe she should pose that riddle for Mark and actually get the answer. He would know the answer to that riddle, instead of being confused as per his usual. Kim stuck her tongue out at Greg. She retorted, “I’m not the one worth less than the chicken.” She didn’t really mean that he was worth less than chicken. She was pretty sure Greg was used to her by now. If not, well, it would thicken his skin a bit. He had started it after all. Still, Kim moved to the side of the kitchen. Just because she was not helping did not mean she did not know how to stay out of the way. Suddenly, Kim remembered a particularly good riddle about fences. Kim chirped, “So there’s three guys who are trying to contain the biggest area ever, but they want to use the littlest amount of face. One guy makes a circle and says it’s good. Another guy, who was a sassy smart guy made a line of fence that would go around half the earth and that would be biggest. But the third guy had the best idea. What did he do to win?” Kim rocked back and forth on her heels, pretty proud of this riddle. She had read it in a book somewhere, but she still thought it was a really good one. And she had figured out the answer (well half of it) on her own when she read it. That made her nearly as clever as the riddler. Cass shrugged at his comment about her being crud. Well, that was certainly not the way to make friends. Not that they would ever be friends. Not after this long. Besides, they were far past the stage of making nice. Cass struggled to remember at which point his criticism had stopped being comprehensibly youthful to petty and rude. It was reasonable for a little kid to be cruel to newcomers and a bit irksome, but it had been years now. There hardly seemed to be a true reason behind his rudeness. At least none Cass had figured out yet. Cass teased, “But you’re here now. Shirking the duties that you could be doing in the kitchen.” Cass noted that he suddenly had the urge to walk in front of her. It seemed he was a bit more irritated about their speed than he might have let on. Cass skipped a few steps forward, matching his pace and walking alongside him. Cass added tartly, “You know, you could quit talking about us as if we’re not part of the group. Hate to break it to you, but we’ve been here plenty long and we’re not going to leave. Everyone’s getting tired of you acting like we’re some horrible plague.” That settled that. It had been long enough for them to earn their keep. While Kim was notorious for complaining and whining, she got the job done relatively well for someone her age. Greg often managed his tasks pretty well too, with a bit less complaining than Kim to boot. Hans somehow managed his duties on top of his training. That was rather admirable in itself. He was generally pretty sweet to everyone, a disposition he had pretty much held on to from their youth. Cass did not know what to say about herself. She generally showed up to help out where she was supposed to. Usually closer to being on time than today. Usually only a few minutes late instead of nearly a half an hour. These were reason enough for Mark to grow up about their place on the airship. Anna smirked at Hans’ cool acceptance of her sudden appearance. Well, she had tried to be sudden, but she knew her surprise attempts never had much of an effect on Hans. He seemed to sense when she was on her way. Come to think of it, she always seemed to know when he was arriving as well. It seemed their bond ran a bit deeper than just sharing their powers. Still, it was amazing to see Hans’ progress. He had been a jumpy little kid, afraid of his own two hands. Now he was clever enough to use some sort of bond they shared to keep from being anything more than blasé about her appearance. Anna generally felt pretty proud of Hans, but she added this as a special feather in his cap. Anna smiled, “All good questions.” She pondered the thoughts for a moment. Hans really knew how to get at the heart of the matter, asking many of the questions she had been thinking of herself. Anna shrugged, “I suppose it’s because he is not very pleased with himself if he does like her. After all, he seems to have some sort of vendetta against your little band. Although, maybe that was always a front for his feelings towards Cass. Hm. Mark’s a tough one. Perhaps he does not understand himself either.” Anna added, “As for the second part, that I can explain. Presuming Mark does in fact like Cass, you would be rather jealous of you. After all, if Cass had her way, she’d be at your side constantly. And you’d probably go on all sorts of marvelous adventures. So Mark’s just jealous because Cass actually gets along with you. And she would rather hang around with you than Mark. At least that aspect of him is a bit easier to comprehend.” Oh Mark, what an interesting topic of discussion he was proving to be. Upon seeing Hans stand up, Anna also moved her cup over to the table. If he was ready to train, she did not want to be caught unawares. But then, she heard his stomach growl. Apparently, he had been readier for lunch than she had thought. Well, she was pretty hungry as well, and starting training this late in the game would not be very helpful. Anna agreed, “Fine, we’ll break for lunch. Sounds good. But I would not advise going over there early. With Cass being quite so late, I would not want to show up early and upset Bess. We’ll just dawdle then?” Hopefully, they could dawdle just enough to get to the kitchen just in time for lunch, not to be early or late. That was really the ideal. Especially with everybody who was scheduled to be in the kitchen running late as it would seem.
