Eye Color: outer part is light violet as her iris is a darker purple
Hair Color: Light purple
Personality: To simply say Queanella’s personality in just a matter of words might seem complicated to some, but for those that have enough patience to stick around, there are just a few things they can say; Calm, Collective, Loyal and Friendly…usually. This isn’t always the case though. She can tend to have a stubborn personality that will easily push others away just from her socially awkward trait that she tries dearly to rid of. Queanella has her own sense of pride that she doesn’t let anyone too close to in fear that they may somehow wound it more than what it already is and her seemingly small and fragile frame gets others to try and take advantage of her. By appearance most would consider her to be wimpy and dependent on whoever is around, but her past has caused her to grow a cold heart that is nearly impossible to break; a pro that she takes pride in for it protects her from the ‘outsiders’ that try to penetrate her mental state of being…which isn’t exactly in a good place. With her thoughts being veiled by the false sanity that she tries desperately maintain, Queanella is usually quiet to avoid anything offensive she would say to someone as the mix blood is known for her blunt words…that is, as long as she isn’t under pressure. If there is anything that can cause Queanella snap is too much pressure, but this only releases her outbursts of insanity in a subconscious way to ward off the threat. Although in this state she can’t control it, Queanella still attempts but as usual her efforts are in vain. Still, despite her vague personality to strangers and the constant random phrases of facts that may stir from her mouth, Queanella is an adventurer and doesn’t mind taking risks. Although this might not mean she’ll go on an assassination attempt on the King just for fun and games, she just doesn’t hold consequences as a high regard and this often times gets her in uncomfortable situations. With that being said it can seem as though Queanella has no common sense or logic, but even in her times of stupidity she thinks in a rational way; that doesn’t always mean she’ll act rationally though. With her actions usually differing from her thoughts, it can appear as though the mix blood is a bit bipolar or having a split personality, and truth be told she might as well be. With half of her being the nonchalant nerdy character she is, there is also the stubborn and hot-headed woman with a nasty temper if ever egged on in her anger. Without rules and guidelines more than likely Queanella would go haywire for the fact she doesn’t really pay attention to too much –despite her observational skills as living in the forests for years- and therefore doesn’t really care for too much either. The one thing to really set off people though is the cruel and demented mind that just rarely reveals the brutality lurking beneath her skin. With this ‘monster’ crawling beneath her ‘sweet’ appearance, Queanella tries her best to keep herself away from people, but her fascination with anatomy makes that nearly impossible to ever achieve. The Syka-Dryadalis woman is curious about many things, especially the history as to who her father is, but nothing will get her mind going like the study of a body…which again, can get her into certain situations that isn’t exactly pleasurable for Queanella. Still, after several years of examining several types of organisms’ anatomy, Queanella isn’t afraid to admit that she is more interested in the female gender than male. Despite her constant urges to be close to a life form, she tries to keep her distance as she respects the personal space of others knowing she prefers her own space seeing how she isn’t entirely comfortable with people.
Fortunately Queanella isn’t a sensitive person seeing how she is considered an outcast for the things she has done in her past, and never actually accepted as a Syka for her lack of magical ability. With the craving of wanting to learn, Queanella had trained herself into the fighting of blades and because of this, she is somewhat seen as a tainted Dryadalis as they thought she would never use the Bow…but this is a lie as Queanella still prefers the long ranged fighting style of the Bow and arrows. However, her constant rejection into villages as she was somehow labeled as a jinx caused her to grow angry even with ‘her own people’, and so set out on a determined mission to become an excellent markswoman with the Bow. From the long years of training, Queanella grew her sense of determination and has somewhat of an ego, but not enough to blind her from the reality that can often times get her to cower within her own shadow. With that being said, most interpret Queanella to be the lonely type to sit back and avoid most people, and although this can ring true, it is just another cover up over her masked body from the nerdy perspective of her personality. Being able to read anything and memorize it almost completely and perfectly, the half-blood will randomly throw out whatever facts may come to mind, and in doing so, might not shut up about it. With the lack of ability to actually silence herself when speaking in a topic she is interested in, Queanella usually will need someone to slap her across the face or simply be blunt and say ‘shut the hell up’. This will not only get her to be quiet again, but it shows Queanella that you aren’t afraid to speak your mind which is something she finds quite unique in a person. The more blunt you are the more likely Queanella will listen, and to add to it all, she loves criticism no matter how harsh it may be. So opinions, theories, hatred directed at a specific person or animal/creature, and etc. are all things that she would find attractive, but it doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll earn her trust. Once her trust for you is gone, it will remain that way for years and probably a life time as she hates second chanced and doesn’t even enjoy others giving her a second chance when she screws up. So failure as you would probably guess, isn’t exactly an option Queanella would ever strive for.
She is however a nature lover like many of the Dryadalis people, and she can often times be seen speaking with a tree or any other type of plant…but most usually consider it to be part of her insanity that enjoys creeping past the flesh slowly being devoured into the darkness of her own madness. If ever to ask her why she is speaking with a plant, she’ll usually just say: “It is my friend, he will die and wither away, but be reborn…something we as normal mortals can never do.”
Bio: If you were to ask Queanella what her background is, she’ll respond with a simple ‘I was born and currently living while I’m someday going to die’ since she doesn’t really enjoy going into detail about her life. It isn’t the fact she finds it devastating nor does she think it disturbing, but because it’s unimportant to her unless it can help in a life threatening situation. The truth is she was born with a Syka father in Miranuic with a mother of Dryadalis blood and four other half siblings, all of which were older than her. Although she was born in a city, she wasn’t actually raised in one as her mother had slipped away from Miranuic after some tragic event that apparently happened with her father. Queanella may not know what it is that happened to her father, but it was enough to drive her mother out of the city with baby Queanella in her arms and flee to Saltusiar. There is was where Queanella grew up for the first five years of her life, surrounded by nature and other wildlife as her mother kept her father a secret. By the time she was seven her mother finally explained as to why Queanella was fatherless, well part of it, but the missing pieces of the puzzle ended up spiking the young mix blood’s interest and later ended up getting her into nothing but trouble. After finding out that her father was a Syka, Queanella went out of her home one day and started asking around if anyone knew magic or was trained skillfully in that of a blade. Unfortunately the people had no experience with this as their symbol of power is the Bow and the Dryadalis aren’t meant for magic, so the people started becoming weary of the girl thinking her to be some type of bringer of bad luck. This might as well had been true because on her eighth birthday, or at least a day afterwards, Queanella had wondered off into the forests alone to see if she could find anything that she would find interesting, but instead she came across a Runca, and although she wasn’t detected at first, it wasn’t long before the creature found Queanella’s presence. Just for the fact that a Runca was wondering alone in the forests was harder enough to fathom, but the fact that Queanella survived this encounter was even greater; but she only survived because she was able to slightly outwit the Runca by running deep into the forested were flying would be useless, and the trees caused too much of an obstacle for it to run with its large size. So although she managed to slip past the beast, when she was in a moment’s clearing the Runca had returned stalking her by air waiting until it got a good chance to kill the girl, but Queanella was already so close to Saltusiar, others saw and begun to fend off the creature. This would have been seen as an accident if this was the only time that this happened, but similar events kept playing out for the next two years that Queanella stayed in Saltusiar, and she grew her nickname of ‘Jinx’. Now, the mix blood would have already been driven out of the village if it wasn’t for her mother who the other Dryadalis people begun to adore, so the moment her mom had disappeared into the arms of death, Queanella ran away from her home she knew she was an unwanted hex to the people. Eleven and already on her own, the half-blood would have died but in her case she was already trained in the bow and was quite skilled at it, but of course needed more practice as she had troubles with shooting moving objects. So trying to play it low and get back into a city for some type of civilization, she was only thirteen when she found herself in the deathly forestry of the ever darkened trees of Ryhdat. Just by assumptions if you heard this and not realizing that Queanella was still alive one would think her to die only days, possibly even hours after finding herself lost in the blackened forest for she was basically defenseless and direly weak from fatigue and hunger; that, however, is not the case. She was able to go her first day alone without too much trouble, but on her second day there were too many close calls with Veahts’ and other near fatal experiences that started to drive her mad. Only her second day of fate’s trickery and the thirteen year old was already going insane, but her time on her own before at such an early age had already begun to break her shell of sanity. So with her mind being devoured by itself, Queanella was at a loss and slowly edging closer to death until one day, she just completely snapped. Now this would be seen as a bad thing to most people, but honestly if you pay attention as to what she did while insane, you can see that her insanity probably saved her life. Anyways, with her mind not in the right place she ended up going out and exploring Ryhdat, something she has never done and never wanted to do knowing all the dangers that await just around a single tree. At any rate, if she was to stay where she was than she would be devoured by a Veaht for her place was a common ground for Runca, a creature that Queanella has had a bit of history with in her short lived past. Instead she came across a Dysa much to her luck, although most have been killed off or in hiding from the fear of a Veaht, but the Dysa she ran into was a Latum; a creature she easily mistook for being vicious just for its size and appearance of being a predatorily animal. So although she would completely fear this animal if she was able to actually think properly, she actually walked right up to the Wing Latum and approached it as though it was an old friend; the Latum however was confused by this and so started to make threatening signs to try and ward off Queanella. While seeing no use of trying and getting this Dryadalis/Syka blooded girl away from him, the Winged Latum actually begun to take a liking to the suspicious being and started to somewhat stalk Queanella after she had left. Interested in the girl for she seemed completely out of place of Ryhdat, the Winged Latum had followed her and when she found herself in trouble –which the incident she refuses to say, but will admit that it was probably what snapped her out of her insanity for a short while- the Latum actually came to her rescue and Queanella from then on started to see the Dysa as a friend. It wasn’t long till their bond grew greater as they both traveled through the dark forest Ryhdat, but at the same time, it was only a few days before Queanella realized that the Latum, who she named Kyrenearie, was able to fly with his wings and meaning he could easily fly out of Ryhdat. The reason as to why he hadn’t before is still unknown to Queanella, but she will tell you that it was a pain to convince Kyrenearie to leave. This was understandable however seeing at it was his home, but his loyalty and love for the mix blood caused him to finally cave and he did end up fleeing from the forest that had caused them both many difficulties and pain.
Just as it seemed that they would be free from the suffering and dangers for a while, they both ended up encountering an air Vecr during flight and trying to outfly that creature was an absolute mess. The only reason as to why they were safely (mostly) able to avoid the Vecr was because of the hovering part of the city of Technicaes, in which they have to deal with those types of Veahts often so they were able to find assistance from the people. Unfortunately Kyreanerie doesn’t take kindly to strangers approaching Queanella, so they found themselves in a bit of a fight when they first arrived. With Queanella finally calming her companion down, the two stayed in Technicaes for a while (although under surveillance because of the Wing Latum) but found the company of the people rather, discomforting. Still, they were treated well and both were cared for their injuries that they had gained from the Vecr and other encounters during their stay in Ryhdat. After their visit there, Queanella and Kyrenearie started towards Miranuic to see if she could dig up any information about her father as his mystery had always tended to bug Queanella. The travel was safe and they made it to the city, lucky for the both of them it was actually quite nature friendly and was able to smoothen their nerves as they were familiar with such things, but even after going through many buildings asking practically every person that she saw, there was nothing that she could find out about her father and after a two weeks hunt, the both of them gave up and resorted back to traveling. There was really no where the two could really go as Queanella was an orphan exiled from her home and Kyrenearie was a Winged Latum use to the harsh ways of Ryhdat, so neither of them really belonged anywhere. So going out into the wild without much luxury of city life as many are used to, the two grew inseparable as they defended each other through thick and thin and did one thing that many people could rarely ever do on their own; survived. So seen as a wild individual with love for rules and a stubborn way of seeing things, they caused mischief just as much as they also avoided it, and dove into danger just as much as they were dragged into it. Now at age 25 Queanella continued to live on her own with only her ‘pet’ Kyrenearie at her side, but her friend is the only company she needs as she has grown so distant from normal ways of living. Even teaching herself the way of the blade while in her mid-teens she can now use both Bow and Swords (although preferring the dagger or knives in which she can throw), and every so often will go on a hunt to find someone who is willing to teach her to master her skills of weaponry. Of course there is much to be said about her past, but like mentioned earlier Queanella doesn’t enjoy going into details when simply asked, but will often time tell stories that would seem insane when around a campfire, but those stories are often times the truth of her past.
Specialties: Archery is her main pro as she has been trained since a child to be taught under the practice of the Bow. She is a sharpshooter within Archery and labeled as a deadly markswoman able to shoot her target from a far distance, but unlike most Dryadalis, Queanella is also trained with swords. Although this isn’t as great as what an actual master or expert would have in the field of sword fighting, she at least has a skill to help in close ranged battle just in case her ability in archery isn’t available; which this situation tends to arise often, and she is grateful for her mentor in sharing his skills in fighting.
Parkour: This honestly shouldn’t be a surprise at all because if you read her past, you’d see she was on the run more than half her life, and so parkour is a gift that came almost naturally. Although when running she isn’t the fastest of people, she sure as hell can climb, dive, roll –or whatever else- her way through almost any physical obstacle as long as it is bodily possible. Not saying her can become all cat like and fit through unusual places that would probably crush a person’s insides, but her ability of parkour, -which for those who don’t know, that is just another simple term of ‘Getting from one place to another as quick as possible’- can easily out beat many athletic people.
Magic: This is a very rare thing for her to use as she has almost no training in it, but basic things such as flickers of fire are probably the maximum she can handle without spiking her fatigue. However, Queanella is trying to find someone who can help her in her ability of magic from her Syka part of her blood, but because of isolation she pretty much jacked up most of her chances so far. Still, if she was to ever be able to handle more capabilities with magic, this would be something that Queanella could add to her list of abilities.
Latum: Queanella’s pet Winged Latum, Kyrenearie (Kye) has been by her since a very young age, and has assisted her with many things. From fighting foes too strong for her physically to flying through the terrain, Kyrenearie has been noted as a great ally and friend for Queanella and never once has left her side. Often times Kye would even hunt for food or medical supplies if Queanella fell ill, and Queanella has done the same for her ‘pet’. –which in her terms, is companion as she has allowed Kyrenearie to leave anytime if he ever so wishes to do so-
Occupation: Hunting/living life
Weaknesses/Fears:
Love for Anatomy - like mentioned earlier, this can be quite a problem if she gets too close to someone. Whether it be studying the muscles in someone’s arms or examining their body structure, just some things she does, well, she ends up doing more than just studying the person. This however isn’t purposely intended, but when interested in something she can’t really pry her mind from it.
Curiosity – Although this can easily tie in with her last weakness, when Queanella is curious about something, she just doesn’t know when to stop hunting down information. She understands if it can get into someone’s personal life, but other than that she’ll practically get herself killed to solve a problem or mystery. Even when it does get into someone’s personal life, she may or may not back down from the challenge of solving the puzzle…
Cities - Being isolated for pretty much all her life, Queanella fears the cities for the large amount of people. This can usually send her into denial if there are too many people scurrying through the streets, so don’t be surprised if you find her and Kyrenearie flying out of there before she could go crazy. Although it is ironic because she was born in a highly populated city, but she just hasn’t ever lived in one for longer than a month.
Likes:
Poetry/Stories – Queanella enjoys the written language of one’s imagination to the full extent, so poetry and stories you have written, she’ll be more than happy to sit down and listen to you or read what you have. Because of her love for these two things, it isn’t rare for her to suddenly say a line of poetry or recap a part from a story she had heard.
Kyrenearie – Being her longtime companion, Kyrenearie is her closest and dearest friend as well as her greatest ally. He is the winged Latum that she had stumbled across when she was only a child, and during thick and thin they have stayed by each other’s sides. Although Kyrenearie can be overly protective of Queanella often, she still loves her ‘pet’ dearly.
Nature – As a Dryadalis this is something that most would expect from Queanella, and she doesn’t give them any doubts when she starts speaking with plants as though they are lost relatives. She has lived in the forests most of her life as well like many people of the Dryadalis species have, so nature has been her shelter and ally for years on end.
Dislikes:
Strangers – With trust issues, Queanella doesn’t enjoy the presence of strangers too much, but who really doesn’t enjoy strangers would by Kyrenearie as he would attack them mercilessly if they got too close to Queanella. Usually when found in direct contact with a stranger, Queanella would keep silent and try to escape their view, but if they continued to bother her it isn’t unusual for her to threaten and possibly attack. Still, even though she has a strong dislike for strangers she gives people at least one chance, but most never tried to consider friendship with Queanella.
Crowds – Hating strangers would make is obvious she would hate crowds as this would mean more strangers at once around her. Even with Kye by her side she still gets really nervous, but if they are bothering too much then the madness she had gained in her past might snap. This is rare, but it is a trigger for her insanity, thus why she likes to keep her distance from people.
Rule and Boundaries – Seeing as her whole life she has had to break many rules for the common goal of all people, survival, Queanella doesn’t enjoy having a leash put on her. She is wild to an extent, and chains and shackles whether that be figurative or literal isn’t anything she will ever be fond of. Besides, she sees only one true creed in life, and that is to survive. This can also relate to her fear of cities as the people have so many different guidelines they must follow, it’s can tend to get overwhelming.
